Bears in a spin

Hello Bloggers

Today I felt like getting back to a girlie card and using a few of the lovely flowers and embellishments I just e received from the Ribbon Girl. Also of course I had to have a go with my wonderful free gifts from Papercraft inspirations this month, my LOTV bonnets and bowties pad and Happy Birthday Stamp. So the Ribbon Girls Lovely Lilli competion seemed the idea reason to create a card especially as I just love using my lovely LOTV posy trio stamps and my so cute James Daisy stamp.

I saw a spinning wheel on th internet the other day and fancied having a go at one and the posy trio stamps were perfect for this type of project. I decided to set the wheel into a twisted easel card.

Just got these lovely flowers from the ribbon girl which matched perfectly, they are an excellent site and so quick on despatch.  Also they supply small quantities so you can try lots of different items for little cost. I simply can't recomend them enough, and they do the most marvellous lace and charms too.

I coloured James in Grey this time with my spectrum noir pens

My lovely free gift from papercraft inspirations which I have wanted for ages as I do so many Birthday cards

My first ever Pin, with a charm from the ribbon girl, thought it marched the daisy on the stamp.I coloured thr two top parts of the pin with alcohol pens to get it to match better.  However I think I need some spacer beads for my pin and some silver rather than bronze jump rings. Still not bad for my first pin I hope.

The Bears in Motion, I stamped all three and another sentiment stamp from LOTV
The view from above, showing how the stamp holds up the easel card, just love my new papers and can't believe it was free.

Hope you like my project, if you want to have a go here is a link to a video that shows how to do it.

Treehouse Fun

Hello everyone

just popped by to show you my latest card.

It is for my nephew Joel who is 9 and totally boy so I wanted to incorporate that into a card, hence the bug collection and baseball hat.

I love this denim paper by Hot off the press and have had it in my stash for ages, and I really fancied using Kraft card to back it all to make it blend in with the wood of the tree house.

The stamp is Lilli of the valleys Tree House and I coloured it with my spectrum noir markers.  Just loved doing the bushes and the wood of the treehouse, think it is my favorite stamp at the moment.

A few finishing touches, a string bow topped with a red button.... a few boy themed stickers, and a personal touch with his name.............
..........................finally, I carried the theme through to the inside pages with a few frogs.

I usually find boys cards so hard to do and am really never happy with them as I can't add any bling but I think I am rather pleased with this one. It really sums up Joel too and I can just imagine him swinging on that rope, and exploring the tree house.  Can't wait for him to open it.

Hope you are all having a crafty weekend  and thanks for stopping by
Best wishes
Maria

Toot Toot

Hello everyone,

I really fancied a change this week so decided to go all masculine and do a card for my uncles birthday.

He really loves everything to do with cars so this lovely stamp from LOTV seemed the obvious choice.  He also wears a cap, and loves motor racing so it just all worked out beautifully. To make things even better LOTV have just announced their new challenge and it is sports which means I can put it forward for their competion.

I just love this cute little chap and can imagine him  taking part in the London to Brighton run or some such jaunt.  My country gent paper pad fit the bill to back him, I just love the way all of the papers go together it makes it so easy. I coloured him with my promarkers adding a little TB2 around the edges to make the image pop out. Then I cut the image out with a die from Xcut and inked to edges with a little tea die from Tim Holtz and just a touch of vintage Mahogany to bring in the red.

I decided to pair it with some Kraft card to back the papers and to stamp the sentiment and to make the tag. I got out my eyelets and treaded through some garden twine which seemed to fit so well into the theme and the little charm had been in my stash for years just waiting for this card.

Some finishing touches

Hope you like it, at least I have rang the changes away from girly and pretty lilac and pink colours. I really liked using my eyelets again, must use them more often in my cards rather than just for scrapbooking.

Have a lovely week
Best wishes
Maria
